Developmental approach

The developmental approach studies and evaluates the intellectual capacities, cognitive acquisitions and social and relational maturation of the individual, taking into account inherited, acquired and inter-relational variables.

With the developmental approach, interventions aim to establish an overall portrait of acquisitions in different areas of development (physical, cognitive, affective, language and communication, daily activities, etc.,) and determine which activities have the potential to take the child to the next stage. Given that our role is to facilitate habilitation and integration, the person performing the intervention must be well-versed in developmental stages, which will help him/her to adapt interventions as needed.
