West Montreal Readaptation Centre (WMRC) received its first accreditation in November of 2010 with an exceptional score of 96.9%!

What is accreditation?

Accreditation is a legal requirement of all health and social service establishments in Quebec.

Organizations that participate in accreditation programs are evaluating their performance against national standards of excellence. These standards examine all aspects of health care, from patient safety and ethics, to staff training and partnering with the community. Health care staff devote time and resources to learn how to improve what they are doing so they can provide the best possible care and service to their patients and clients.

Accreditation at WMRC

At WMRC, we see accreditation as our road map to defining and instilling standards of excellence and accountability.

We are now coming to the end of our first three-year accreditation process, which will culminate in the visit of Accreditation Canada surveyors at the end of November 2010.

Over the last three years, with employee and user surveys to guide us, we have discovered areas in which we excel and areas in which we need to improve. We have made extraordinary progress by integrating a great number of required organizational practices (ROPs).

We are all responsible -- employees, caregivers, users, families and partner organizations -- for ensuring that WMRC continuously improves the quality of its services. This new section of our Website is designed to help us do that.
